I would imagine so, can motors with worm gears that recess into the trucks....
Jeff
I think he's talking about the motors that are horizontal in the trucks like the K-Line or some Lionel models. All the Williams I've used have had the "China drive", with the vertical motors.
Since it's Williams by Bachmann, so it's about 99.9999% that it has the vertical motors.
Your probably right John, I have just never seen any Williams engines with motors in the trucks like K-line. I probably misunderstood the question.

I haven't either Jeff, don't even know if they actually did them that way in their history, but it's possible. The earliest one I've seen was one with fairly large unlabeled motors and no flywheels. However, they were still vertical motors.
The early Williams motors were either Mabuchi or Pittman cans.
Just curious. Were you at the Dupage show in Wheaton, IL?
Everyone is using the word "motors".
My old school Williams 44 tonner has a single vertical Mabuchi motor.
And you'd be right for this one! The Williams #22101 apparently has a single motor. This is from the 2009 Catalog.

Agree! All the Wiliams old school style 44 tonners I've seen are single can motors.

That's one of the few Williams locomotives I've never had open.
I guess you can learn something every day, first Williams (with the exception of steam) that I have heard of being a single motor unit. Of course I have Williams GP9's and FM's which all are dual motors.

Sam It was at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds.
All others thanks for the responses.
She may only have one motor, but it's a good runner and will pull an awful lot!
