We have an older model Thomas - 71-8719-250, no sounds or lights. We have a lot of trouble getting him started. Running on a small oval 027 loop powered by a CW80. it's like the pickups have a problem. Once you get him going he will run for a few loops then stop. All the wheels and pickups have been cleaned and oiled. He does go both forward and backward. If we put our Coke Little General engine on the same track it works fine.
