Hi guys hope you can help me I have an older GP30 rs4 that started to give me problems. The unit sound works as do the couplers and smoke. It will barely move and the lights just blink very rapidly. I could use some suggestions. Thanks Bill

TMCC or Conv? If TMCC - any other engines having issues?
On my GP30 - I had some binding in the truck gears and it wouldn’t move. I remember taking it apart & cleaning everything & putting the gears back in. Everything has been running ok. Had a lot of hair in the gears.
All the gears are clean and oiled, so that is not the problem.
Maybe poor connection to the antenna? Check the solder joint on it, otherwise I would suggest to swap the R2LC with a known good one
checked antenna and replaced the R2LC, unfortunately no difference. Help
Can you provide product number, road name, engine number? That'll help with some research. There are plenty of GP30's out there.
Try wiggling the Molex connector and wires at the DCDS board. Sounds like nothing is being sent to the motors. The R2LC is receiving signals and processing them.
The loco is 6-28819 Gp 30
Do the RPMs raise as well as the slow movement?
Try cleaning wheels and pick up rollers. I would also make sure the track is clean.

Hi rollers are clean and all other units on the railroad perform flawlessly.
