I have never pretended to be logical nor have I ever pretended that I should be held responsible for the idiot things I do.
My wife might not agree, but that is another matter. I have posted here that I bought a collection of On3 about 9 months ago and that I adore the narrow gauge railroads. Of course, working feverishly on the Munoz Lines to complete our railroad before the national debt is paid off, I had forgotten that I never opened up the K-36 that was in the collection. Today, working to gather some excess items I want to post for sale, I grabbed the box with the K-36 to bring it up to my photo room to have a look. I had not previously opened it. I know, that sounds ridiculous. Who would buy a K-36 and leave it in the box unopened? At the very least, open the box to make certain it arrived safe and sound, no? Noooooooooooooooooooo. Not Scrapiron Scher.
Today I got around to opening the box. It is an MMI (Mountain Models Imports) K-36 D&RGW with the green boiler factory painted. I opened the box and pulled out the locomotive. I was blown off of my chair. I regained my balance and sat down again. You have to see this locomotive to appreciate it. Scrappy, where are the photos? This is the single most detailed die cast locomotive I have ever seen. Period. No contest. Over. Done. If this locomotive is not the visual equal of a brass locomotive, I better take up quilting. I turned the loco to look at the cab detail. It's a good thing I am alone today because I had to stifle a "YAHOO !!!" This is the single most detailed loco cab I have ever seen. I will take photos of this beauty for all to see.
As Phil Rizzuto used to say, "Holy Cow !!!"
