Those are better looking than a Lionel GP7 diesel.

I have a couple from the first run. I was good looking them with dark hair..... looking forward to these getting here..... I was afraid the EL would get canceled given the complex paint scheme...... Today we have had the most orders for Missouri Pacific and a lot of 2 Rail orders. 

Now that Atlas is reopening orders for the GP7 is there any chance that Clinchfield will get done or is that still canceled?

Is Atlas turning a corner with getting things manufactured?  That would be good news.  And these do look nice.

No, they justdidn't have enough interest - I only have a few hours to collect these orders.....

Stupid Question but when were the preorders for their Baldwin V0-1000's?

I confirmed with Steve at Atlas ..... that these (2-rail) GP7's will indeed use ESU decoders.

All undecorated versions are shipped with the dynamic brake body panel.

An undecorated GP-7 several years ago. As mentioned it comes both with the dynamic brake blister and without.    Some assembly required.  Standard hood panel pictured lower right.

I emailed Bill Serratelli about this recently and he confirmed that Atlas will be using LokSound in all of their 2-rail models going forward.

With these in production, hopefully Atlas will see the interest is still there for GP-7 and GP-9 locomotives. Then hopefully they will look to the South again for Atlantic Coast Line, Clinchfield, Seaboard Air Line (I know Atlas ran these before) and Southern (green or black).

Thanks, Donald.... they included the VO's in the 6 month catalog in January, then delayed announcing them. I was told they were working on changing some of the details. I expect they will be announced very shortly since they are planning on shipping them early in 2018. 

I was hoping to see a container shipment update for late October on the Atlas-O website, but nothing yet.    I figure if something doesn't ship within the next week, we're not gonna see it in 2017.  Atlas-O usually takes delivery and turns stuff around for their dealers about 7-8 weeks after a container ships from China.  So they're running out of runway for 2017.

Bear in mind the Tman GE 8-40CW was reintroduced in Feb 2014 and has yet to be delivered, not to say that Atlas motive power production may not be improving in the foreseeable future but who can really say. JMO
