I really liked the look of the town on my last layout. That is tell I got my first GoPro and mounted it on an old Lionel FM frame. When I ran a train with camera through the back of my village I realized I not only had never finished many of the backs of buildings but had exposed wires coming out the backs as well. If I ever wanted to show a POV of my layout I would have to pull many of the building and finish them. Luckily we moved soon after that but I learned a good lesson. On the new layout everything will be finished from every angle. Don

In that point I am little obsessive.
All my back buildings are finished, even, when I never will see again.
Cables are well hide and in some building I use cooper tape as power conductor for light.
The green Ford 1949 is pretty famous I have one too!

Andre, got the Gentleman's Club today and started painting this afternoon. Kit looks easy and fun to build. Thanks Don

Oh great! That's the RLM main idea, make something easy to assemble that doesn't require too many tools.

Matt, never saw "my" Lounge before. Don
From the back......Don
The first building I ever kit bashed was an Ameritowne factory kit that I lengthened by using all the side walls to make one long side and leaving the back open. On the layout it is against a house wall so the back is never seen. It's the Railway Express building at the top of the photo.
It looks great (IMHO) and is exactly what I wanted. The problem is I can't reposition it anywhere else - it always has to be against the wall. So it limits any reconstruction possibilities. In hindsight, I should have just bought another kit or extra walls and finished it completely.

Finishing a scene from every angle counts, in my opinion. I would not consider crafting a scene any other way, so I agree with what you discovered by happenstance, Scale Rail.
Something that may be partially hidden from view one day may be front-and-center the next. Many of us like to change our minds and make changes on our layouts.
Every scene I make is on a base-plate so I can move scenes around at-will without loss of ingredients or any disfigurement of buildings. Then every element gets blended with its neighbor and surroundings...
...side views of front views....
side views...
front yards...
...and side yards...
...all of it matters, now and for the future.
