Last night my RH Fastrack switch came I had ordered. Put it in this morning. Checked it out, and switched back and forth okay. Then came the chance to put an engine and several cars into my new siding.
OOOOooooooooooops! Suddenly sparks, and the engine shot in reverse. Now talk about luck, my finger went to my "emergency halt" button, split seconds before the curve into town, avoiding a wipe out and spill and EPA fine possibility.
Checking with an Ohms meter, and taking the switch off layout, removing plate from bottom, discovered that someone at the factory had left an extra cable clamp inside. (Better then a short or bare wire somewere).
Works great now, but next time a new switch is added, think I'll run a freight car through before committing an engine.
