I like to operate a fast freight trains. Its what I rember seeing as a kid.Living here in monroe n.c. and seeing freight train of the seaboard coast line. They took the term fast freights to new hights. When operating a long train some time a coupler would pop open. When that happens you can a train smash into itself.I have had that happen to me.Some times I would see what was about to happen.Cuting the power off fast doesn,t help. The motion would carry it on and WHAM!Train derailment I have to go clean up the mess.Or I would forget I left a switch open lending to a derailment. But most of the time I can operate trains pretty good.I am just glad noone was around to see that.I know alot of guys and girls who had their share of derailment.

My "fast" freights top out around 25mph so I rarely have a derailment unless it's something stupid I have done, like leave a switch in the wrong direction.

As small as my layout is (12x12) anything faster and I'd get dizzy
