Yes, and no, to be technically correct. The Reader RR equipment was used in the movie, but not this engine. 2-6-2 #4, which ironically operated over the same railroad between 2000-2003, was in the movie.
Looks like the steam engine is still in Arkansas at the Reader Shops for inspection at the moment, but should be returning to Florida soon.
I’m looking forward to riding behind it when it gets back to Florida but it doesn’t sound like that will be very soon. I emailed them and they said “We don't have an exact date for it's return, but we are hoping for late August.”
