If I order out of the latest catalog, how long can I expect wait for delivery? If its not marked for 3/2 can it still be ordered as two rail? Im thinking of ordering the C&O 2-6-6-6 and the Little Goe. Thanks Stephen (cTr...Choose the Right) & (There's power in Service)

Depending on whether they have pre-existing tooling, factory backlog, and parts, it looks like the items schedule for delivery about six to eight months after the catalog. That obviously changes as the production run starts. If the locomotive isn't listed as Proto 3/2 in the feature description, it's Hi-Rail only. Specialty sets are all hi-rail for now. If you're running 2-rail, look for "-2" at the end of the catalog number for scale-wheels and "-1" for Hi-rail wheels.
Since about four years ago, I've ordered all my diesels (and one Hudson) with scale wheels and haven't looked back. I get the best of both worlds that way.
Hope this helps.
expect to wait from 6 months to one year.
Ive ordered twice and waited at least that long
Thanks every one, thats helpful, the C&O 2-6-6-6 doesn't have a -2 after it anywhere in the catalogue so I guess there isn't a two rail offering. (cTr...Choose the Right) & (There's power in Service)
I thought they would have a two rail offered. They did one in the past:

I guess the new factory isn't far enough along yet?? I was also hoping for the AC6000 and the E8s to be two rail by now. They are coming out with others so I'll be looking at them. I noticed the new Amtrak release is 3/2 at least.
Depends on the product. If its not cataloged and ordered in -2, it may be hard to convince MTH to make it even if they formerly had a -2 version as Joe points out. Longest I've waited is 3 years. It seems lots of catalogs issued until enough pre-orders are taken to make a run.
I under stand the production difficulties that must present themselves , especially with two rail models in very short runs. What I don't understand is MTH have invested in a control system that caters now to 2 rail and 3 rail alike. Im very glad they have!! but you would think they would wont to perpetuate that system, by enticing us with some two rail offerings. It would be grate if steam had the inter changeability of there diesel counterparts. Hanging out for a Triplex in 3/2.
Whats happening to that chip that will allow DCC boards to read DCS ??? Stephen (cTr...Choose the Right) & (There's power in Service)
