This is car is beautiful, definitely one of the best cars I own. Will make it a extended roman Burlington lettering. A special project for me.

Re-did grabs with bolt detailed where appropriate for CB&Q.... the upper ones on the side end were removed.
Removed some extra detailes for a better CB&Q depiction... jail bars were too thick, I’ll replace them.

That is a really nice model. The rivets really stand out - look better than PSC to my eyes. How is the overall solder? Nice and sturdy?
I agree, Bob. Sometimes the PSC punches would bend the brass sheet. Not here, sheets are flat with well defined rivets. Soldering is superb, too!
The shape of the rivet itself has a nice dome shape, not too pointy. If that's what you mean.
That Burlington RPO is coming along great Santiago... Keep up the awesome work, and thanks for sharing the progress!

Great work on an interesting car. Heavy weight RPO cars capture a charm of railroads in the days of steam and electrics and early diesel.
Fabulous

Unusual consist? Two tone grey headend cars and a Burlington commuter coach following. Expo flyer??

Nice Job!!
The rivets on the car look to be photo etched and not punched
Makes for a better looking rivet and its faster for the builder to make the cars
I had a friend years ago that did photo etched brass for some weaver kits, it is an amazing process and took a lot of time to make the pattern or negative for the etching. He had to figure the time to leave the brass in the acid, too long or short it wouldn't be good and as the acid was used it got weaker so he had to keep adjusting the time. It took quite a bit of artistry to make the etchings...and he did it all in his garage!!
Keep up the good work I always enjoy (and envy )your projects!!

Not just a Burlington RPO, but a specific Burlington RPO!
Thanks, gents! Scott's E5s can't get here soon enough!
Has Scott mentioned which series of E5 he is doing? I would like Phase II since they have not been done in O ever.
Phase II with full skirts (removable)!
Good, I wasn’t sure it’s just listed as E5. Names help too. I hope nobody puts a Phase II name on a Phase I B unit for example. (Wink)

Thank you Santiago for your updates on your incredible builds of the Exposition flyer rolling stock.
As a fellow CB&Q-fan and Burlington Bulletin reader its most delightful to follow your ventures.
I remember I read somewhere that you mostly use Revell colors. Is the Pullman green color from there to?
Thanks, BE! Yes, I do use Revell enamels. But the Pullman green is a mix of dark green, black and brown. Let me know if you need th color numbers.
Still struck with the crispness of those rivets. And your paint actually augments them. Way to go!

Thanks for your answer Santiago! The numbers and color mix for the Revell colors would be much appreciated.
Simon, ball bearings is where it's at! This should do it for a 11 car consist. I'm just waiting for R Lewis to import some more HW trucks, I got several on order.

I think the layout's grade and the large quantity of nuts is unfair to compare to these. I think the Low-D do roll better?
I am a huge fan of real bearings inside. I feel we abuse our engines, asking them to do more than we believe they're doing. I'd love to know more about these Low-D trucks. I am making my own for now.
Santiago, do yours have real bearings?
