I'm with Jim C. Where did you come up with the number 240E? Lionel prewar Standard Gauge remote control locomotives were: 8E, 9E, 10E, 318E, 380E, 381E, 384E, 385E, 390E, 392E, 400E and 1835E.
Are you interested in the prewar 400E or Lionel Classics re-run 2-400E. Both look better operating on 72" diameter curved track BUT Lionel designed the original 400E, first introduced in 1931, to run on the then available 42" diameter track.
