OTT electronic whistle relay

Have you thought this through? I have just a couple of places where I want the Operating Coal Unloading Car to unload its cargo. You're setting it up to dump coal anywhere and everywhere. I have the Williams 47954 with remote control and it comes with the capability you are working on. The grandchildren dump everywhere including inside of tunnels. I would never have thought about dumping coal inside a tunnel. Grandchildren are great at coming up with unusual ideas.

So, if you want the capability to dump coal anywhere, and you don't want to do it the easy way with a Williams 47954, and you are sure that you have room for the relay somewhere on the Lionel 3469 chassis, then there are two wires to activate the mechanism. I believe the 3469 gets its power from two pickup shoes. This allows you to get the power from an accessory source instead of track power. Even if you get power from the track, it is very unlikely that a Lionel track would have been set to the full power of 18 volts in the 1950's, so you may need to reduce the power. In any event, it does not matter which wire goes to the center rail and which wire goes to the outer rail for the operation of the Lionel 3469. However it does matter which wire of the relay goes to the center rail because if you reverse it you will need to press the bell button instead of the whistle button.

yes I have several of the Kline remote operating cars. I have so many remotes to deal with it is getting ridiculous thats why I am doing this. The OTT’s relay instruction guide says to contact them for special instructions for wiring for the coil. The instructions included are for post war whistles. I am just trying to find out what the special instructions are. Thanks
