Has anyone heard anything on the Overland ES44's they were rumored to do in O Scale?  Orders?  Pre-Orders?  Their website is lacking...

How about delivery of the SD70's that were to have already been delivered?  Mines been paid for...but haven't heard or seen anything in a while...

Tumbleweeds...

A good portion of the SD70Aces have come in,a friend of mine picked up a large # of them at Cleveland O scale meet earlier this month from a large midwestern dealer. I believe he has 2 more coming in the next shipment. In the spring Overland announced these were finally coming in they stated they would no longer import any more N or O scale brass.

It is time for OMI to leave the O scale side of the hobby. See Ya!!

Not only am I happy prefunding Overland's items that I want I am happy to fund lots of businesses buying their stock for which I get nothing other than maybe dividends and at the mercy of the vagaries of the market.

Which, OBTW, is how I get the money to pay for this stuff.  Many, many times over.

I think it's the way we get spoiled from the big mass producing guys who make so much they end up with blow out sales later on. I don't think they want it that way.

There are a lot of guys who will pay whatever Lionel wants for their latest products whenever they want it. So Overland is not out of line. Of course, if the average train guy saw a modern Overland product in person, they would appreciate the quality.

Pre pay orders...there is the same arrangements for niche and high end custom precision optics...especially the few that are still made the old-fashion way here in the USA, where there are few units of high quality produced. You might as well consider it craftsman custom built...just for YOU. You're saying to Overland "Would you build this model for me, please". I'm surprised the brass market has survived at all. This is not mass market folks...it's a completely different animal. I enjoyed my years in the 80's collecting Ma and Pa HO scale brass...as well as some N. When you see brass up close, you'll understand.

A lot of speculation here as the current Overland site makes no mention of any future O scale models, Brian may have suggested that a future project if it were to be done would require a full up front "investment" on the project ,I don't believe he was that satisified with the deposit system [drop outs, slow payers etc.] it would be interesting to see if enough "investers" could be found to pony up the 300K+/- to fund the project. Bear in mind the lighted UP engines are 2750- today, a future model would sit at 3K+ [at least 3 years out at this point] 100 +/- would probably be the builders requirement. Overland is not the only importer that Ajin[Atrain] builds for today and with less staff these projects can take a far greater period of time to completion.

I already own several MTH ESS44's and SD70's...I don't need anymore currently.  I also have a nice collection of Brass that I run on a limited basis, as it is all currently just straight DC.  I'm always adding nice pieces to my Brass collection so I can pass them down, as they were to me. What electronics do you intend to install in your SD70s?  I was thinking MTH PS3.0 if they ever come out with a kit like they did with PS2 but I don't know if they ever will...  Maybe Soundtraxx TS-1000? But that would limit me on running them with DCS w/ my MTH models.

Here's a pic of my addition this week...getting ready to put on the mirrors and hoses.  No one really understands the big deal with brass...until you see it in person.

Somehow I missed this post 'til now. I never saw the NS version either!

Somebody remind me where the March meet is? Can't there ever be a meaningful show that I don't have to travel for ten to twelve hours to get to!!!! Urrggg.

Perhaps you are thinking of the 3-rail fp7's from 3rd Rail?  They are back to the builder to correct issues with the wheel profiles.

Some things in plastic are even slower than most things in brass.
