Just picked up an Lionel 8606 but unfortunately did not include the manual. I checked Lionel's site but no luck. Any suggestions where I could find one or if someone could post it I sure would appreciate it. Good luck to all in the path of Sandy,

Notice how it is stated under the "784 Hudson" section:
Track voltage of 10-20 volts A.C. is necessary for proper operation.
However, modern transformers such as the 135 watt or 180 watt power bricks only put out 18 volts. Thus, scale Hudson locomotives with their large motor operate slow and not a full power using many modern transformers.

Curiously, Lionel recommends the MW transformer for this loco. I will have to dig one out and measure the output to see if it "has the proper voltage" as stated in the text.
