The PA legislature has declared the third Saturday in July as Anthracite Heritage Day. This year, it is on Saturday July 16th. A flag raising ceremony will be held at ten AM, and tours of the Minors Heritage Park will follow until noon. Next year should be a better organized event, with a year to plan. The Park is at 101 S Main St Ashley PA. The park is dedicated to mining and railroad heritage, since both were linked during the days when coal was king.
