Does anyone know if paint is available that matches Amtrak colors exactly? Below is a link to another topic in which I posted the Amtrak paint guide. The guide covers literally everything. I'm sending in one of my locomotives to a custom painter to be repainted in Amtrak's Veterans scheme, and I want to make sure the painter gets it as close as humanly possible. Appreciate any help you guys can give me.

I had my dad's truck painted to match a new trailer. I wrote to the trailer manufacture and they sent me the code for all three colors.
Maybe Amtrak would do that..just a thought. But, sometimes even differences in dye lots of the same color are off.
TRU COLOR is worth looking at for the closest match.
Just be aware that colors under natural light will look different under artificial indoor lighting.
I always drag this out when the subject of color matching comes up. Same locomotive, (color matches the EMD paint chip) same camera, different lighting; warm white florescent tube, cool white CFL, daylight CFL:

If you go to Railfonts.com, then click on the "references" page you will find links to many paint and color documents. One is George Rust's DuPont color list for real railroads. But many others are for modeler's paints. Best color reference on the web that I know about.
