Hello,   It's hard to tell from internet pictures how yellow the UP paint is on the Williams F-7.  (And no LHS near me sells WBB) Is the yellow prototypical, or ultra bright and toylike?  I don't have any UP stuff yet but I will eventually want quite a bit.  I'm just not sure if Williams is the place to start as I will eventually be mixing in MTH and Lionel UP diesels as well.  Thanks for any input.

I do not know about the Williams paint color. I do know that if you are mixing units from the various manufacturers that the colors seldom match, but that is how it is out in the real world too. Faded under the sun, fresh out of the paint shop, they will be different.

I have an MTH Texas & Pacific swamp holly yellow geep and a Atlas geep in the same scheme. No even close, but don't look so out of place when MUed together.

My experience with Williams is that the UP yellow has a kind of pumpkin orange tint to it.  MTH, on the other hand, is a kind of mustard yellow.  I'm not sure about the Williams F7 in particular; but I did not like the orange yellow tint of the Williams UP E7 set.  Others will have more information.  Truth be told, actual UP equipment shows several different shades or hues of yellow paint.  The official and original colors were "Armour Yellow" (after the meat-packing company) and Harbor Mist Gray.  You can Google for images of samples of these colors.
