I went to the TCA train show in Palm Beach Gardens in Fla on Saturday. As some may know train shows are few and far between in South Fla. I was pleasantly surprised on Sat. There were some very nice trains for sale, a number of operating layouts and the vendors were friendly and prices were good. I bought a seven car passenger set and two freight cars in Alaska markings. It was one of the better shows I have attended since moving to Fla from Brooklyn years ago. Thanks to the TCA for an excellent show.

I was there after 1pm on Saturday, for about an hour, and there were many vendors still there but not many people there to buy. Got a couple of bargains.
There was a two rail O scale layout by the entrance, very nice trains, even had a Tri-Rail set in O scale. Looked like either an MTH or K-Line set, had three commuter cars and an engine. Sometimes on weekends Tri-Rail uses two engines and three cars.

As TCA host for the show let me thank both of you for the kind words. The Southern Division puts a lot of effort into our shows and we are getting better at it. We moved the show from Stuart so that we could have more room for tables, more room for layouts, better parking and better food. I expect in future years attendance will grow as our mailing list grows and we are better able to target our buyers. If you ever have any questions about this show please feel free to contact me.
I got there about 11:00am. There was a good number of people. It really thin out about 12:30pm. Al, thanks again. Can't wait for the next one.
I think the show will do better next year or next time you have a show at that location. I was not aware of that location and had to look it up on mapquest.com. I drove school bus for a few years and didn't know that particular area of town.
Hopefully the next show at that location will do better, and I will get there earlier too!
Is this show to replace the Stuart FL show? Or does it replace both the Stuart and West Palm Beach FL (on Lake Worth Rd. at the Polish American Club)shows?

As Al said above, this show was moved from Stuart so it is the replacement location for the Stuart show. The show that had been held at the Polish club in August was moved to Venice, FL a few years ago and now held in early September.

Dang! I'm up the road in Hobe Sound but I didn't know about it. Can't contact you Al Galli. No email address in your profile.

Dennis:
I posted an announcement in the announcements Forum on March 5th which had responses from a few members and I also posted a reminder on March 21st.
I take it you are a snow bird and the Southern Division doesn’t have your name and Florida address on their mailing list. Al will probably respond to you and you can then give him your Florida contact info.

I drove up from Homestead, left the house at 7:00 am and pulled into the parking lot at 9:10 As Vinny said not many shows in southeast FL. even with a population of over 5.6 million in Dade,Broward, and Plam Beach county.
I got a great deal on a ZW trans. picked up a few cars and just looked at all the cool stuff. Next year I'll bring more cash, lots more.

Are you the same group that had the train show in Stuart at the Martin County
Fairgrounds a couple of months ago? I went to that one because I saw the signs along Federal Highway (Hwy 1).

Dennis
Dennis,
The group that meets at the county fairgrounds is the MC H.O. club.
The group doing the train show in northern Palm Beach county is TCA.
Bill,
I liked the train show on Lake Worth Rd. in August. I am unable to drive to Venice FL for a train show. The Venice location is too far for me to drive because of getting off from work.

I went to the show too. very well attended, lots of sellers with good quality items. Only bought a few items as i'm really focused on specific RR's and trackside items. Glad that the TCA moved the show back to WPB area. Going to Stuart was just too far for me to go for a TCA show.
