I received mine two days after the post. Worked fine at home.

Took it to "Day out with Thomas" and it smoked a 8x32 layout.

All 7 club members were also impressed.....

I had the Christmas sent ad thought it would be a sweet smell like

candy canes. It was not. Close as I can figure it was pine sap.

It was a nice smell....

Thanks Pat's trains...

Now if it could quiet down my K4 it would be a winner.

I recently tried out a bottle of Pat's Trains new Smoke fluid in Vanilla Scent.

It came in one of three sizes, of which was the small 2 oz bottle.

Upon utilizing in two different locomotives (MTH Premier and 1965 Lionel Scout), I am happy to report that this smoke fluid is very very very good.

I noticed there was no messy residue, and the vanilla scent was not overpowering, yet just enough potency to make a pleasant scent in the room.

Smoke output is good too and easily matches or exceeds the smoke fluids that came with my engines.

My wife who has bad allergies and hates air freshener's actually seemed fine when she smelled it while standing in the door way.

My dogs like it as well, two Siberian Huskies who already come blazing into the train room when they hear the trains running, now go completely nuts sniffing the air.

Thus, all of this and the great prices and service at Pat's Trains, makes these new smoke fluids a winner in my opinion.

Pat's Trains has a great website too! With easy online ordering!

I purchased 2 bottles, 1 ea no scent, and pine. Pat added a freebie of White Christmas. Thanks, Pat!

Tried them all yesterday.

Smoke plume is every bit as thick or thicker as MTH's. Looks good coming out!

I could see that set on high, I'd have no problem setting off the smoke detector from trains on my around the room track near the ceiling. But it didn't set it off, even on high setting,  from those on the platform.

It disapates as well as JD's. Aroma is as pleasant as both. White Christmas has a wood fire smell.

None of the 3 bothered my eyes, either.

Defiitely a good smoke!

Let me clarify for the record that the nada lable is used by mega steam and not pats trains. I was just using that lable to signify that the fluid has no oder. When people ask me what does your train smoke smell like I tell them nada, nothing, zero it has no oder. It's just a figure of speech to me. Did not realize it was a brand name. Now with that said. I am not brand loyal or care about that at all. I just want what works the best. some times all I can get is what ever my hobby shop carries at the time. But at the price pat has I may get some more soon and stock up.I really like the stuff!

Received my bottle of vanilla scented fluid today and  tried it tonight and figured I would fulfill my end of the deal.

At the club I belong to right now we have Megasteam and Lionel Premium on the shelve, I have used Megasteam forever up until about a month ago when personally I've been using only Lionel Premium in my Legacy engines, In terms of Smoke Volume the Lionel Premium seems to put out the most smoke in terms of volume at least in Legacy Locomotives.

Using Pat's stuff the first thing at least I noticed  since the bottle is clear is when I picked up the bottle was that viscosity was much thicker  compared to Megasteam and Lionel Premium. Lionel Premium just by shaking the bottle seems to be about the same as Megasteam.

I ran 2 Legacy Locomotives and burned off the Lionel Premium that was currently in them, I filled them with Pat's stuff and noticed at least to me that once added the fluid may have taken a bit longer to actually heat up  and produce normal amounts of smoke compared to Lionel Premium and Megasteam, maybe at most 20 seconds, possibly because of the viscosity difference but I'm no Refinery Technician. Once it heated up  the Volume seemed to be a just a little bit thicker then Megasteam but still not as good as Lionel Premium in terms of Volume

Scent wise it only took a single fill to get a strong clear scent of the vanilla and it wasn't overpowering either, maybe it took one fill because the Lionel fluid doesn't actually have a scent but i don't know. Compared with megasteam i would say it's about the same.

Thank's Pat for letting us try a bottle of you're new smoke, It's definitely a good product.

Thanks also kevin. Not to get off topic but I also noticed pats fluid seemed to be a thicker viscosity than my mth I was using. Does this viscosity difference make the smoke coming out the stack look thicker and whiter producing bigger smoke plumes or does the heat of the element ( hot vrs. just turned on)or the ohm size of the element factor in to this whiter thicker look I am seeing? Hope you guys get what I am saying. Thanks!
P&P smoke fluid is made with all natural materials and we make it a little thicker to give you longer run time. If you noticed our fluid will last almost twice as long as the competition. Thanks for doing an honest review.

I received the smoke fluid a few days ago and was able to try some yesterday and today in several engines - steam and diesel. The vanilla smell is very nice, as mentioned above, not overpowering at all. Decent smoke output, comparable to what we've used before.

Thanks a lot Pat's Trains - you have a good product here!

HERE ARE SOME NEW SCENTS.

Hey, John
The Super Mist is a premium mix we formulated to compete with Lionel's Premium smoke fluid. The best thing is our smoke will last 2-3 times as long as the other brands. The Super Mist is non scented. The Cherry scent is a light Cherry fruit smell.
Thanks
Pat

Does the Cherry smell like cherry wood burning or cherry flavor?

First off thank you very generous. Great scent I wouldn't have tried on my own, Grape!

I loved it does not linger long even if you spill the whole bottle down your leg and onto the carpet!... Oop's...yep... really.(No stain) I did manage one fresh fill on an all new packing highly modified unit in kit bash lasted 12min on high, twice, with regular visitors who ALL liked its smell. After the "spill" I went to mega-steam nada(hated by one guest "the complainer") and am averaging only 7 min, modification is so radical its hard to tell difference in textures here. Each other loco only got a couple drops prior to spill. The TMCCs loved it, post wars with original pellet elements love it, except my chrome 1970s 4-4-0 R.I. General which always had weak smoke but now wants another 2-3v to produce its been a couple weeks still barely producing till I added mega steam, getting better slowly ...ahh it needed a bridge rectifier to slow it down and increase smoke anyway . But the different viscosity, evaporation properties and smoke consistency are closer to the tubes of fluid Lionel gave with the trains than anything else I saw recently(I just used my last of 10-20 childhood tubes  Then found 8 hidden pellets again  Never had the "sludge" issue?)(and Lionel Premium fluid was n.a. local, just miles from Mich HQ). Over all I hope I see P&P on a shelf when I go to support my local guys, Pats Trains has got my full attention as far as non-local supply goes. Great performance on 7 of 8 smokers, thicker, whiter, lasted longer, smelled better(also smoke, nor spill, lingered), and better price. It will head my next fluid quest for sure. Thanks again, I wish I could have given a better long term review with the fresh unit but on single use I did like what I saw.

P.S. (my pw 2037 has sat 2 days, then run for hours, sit two days, run etc etc. for over a week. Have not added a drop  It only runs like this on pellets)

Thanks Adiratic
send me an E-mail with your address and I will send you a refill.
Thanks
