I am looking for the part number of the pilot spring for an AC6000. I have looked on Lionel's parts diagrams and find the coupler centering spring but not the pilot wheels centering spring. I have made my own but it works just ok.
It would have been easier if you included a model number but I see a couple of AC6000’s and all seem to have the same picture. No spring is shown for the pilot. Assuming that they used the same spring as other model with the moving pilot, you could try this one if yours looks the same.
Thanks for your reply. The model number of the engine is 6-38409. I believe all of the Ac6000 engines utilize the same kimematic pilot. The spring is a torsion spring and looks similar to a coupler centering spring but the arms of the spring are longer on the pilot spring
The part number 640-2500-136 is the shape of the spring. Do you know what are the dimensions? The spring sits around a post about .096 inches and needs to be about 3/4 of an inch in length.
