I have several sets of Weaver and MTH passenger cars that I want to upgrade with interior passengers, seating and LED lighting.  The original Weaver Wabash passenger car is shown here.

I used a CAD program to design a set of seats for the passenger car and 3D printed them.

The seats were glued to the frame and eBay seated passengers were added.  I had to amputate feet to get the passengers to fit.

There is a channel running under the seats for wiring both pickups.  The strip of LEDs were powered by design based on a Gunrunnerjohn's post.  I designed the PCB board and fabbed it at PCBWay and I used components purchased on eBay.

The result looks better than the picture.  Not counting my time I can upgrade a passenger car for about $5.

My wife gave me a Prusa I3 MK3 3D printer for Christmas.  It is rated as the best 3D printer under $1000 and it is a great printer.  I use generic PLA filament that I have purchased on eBay and from Prusa.  The forum has been very valuable to me with the sharing of information and I want to give back.  I will send the .stl CAD file for the seats that can be used by most CAD programs and 3D Printer software to anyone who sends me an email request.  I used Tinkercad.com for the design of the seats.  It is a simple, free, on-line CAD tools.  I will also send the Diptrace PCB files for the LED power.  Diptrace is a good PCB design software that is free for hobbyist doing smaller PCB designs.  The PCB is based on Gunrunnerjohn's constant current LED driver design.  I used a 240 Ohm resister in the passenger car shown.  The windows are open.  I have not decided if they are really needed.  So far the only reason I can think of is to keep dust out of the interior.  If I do add windows I would like to be able to ink print blinds on the plastic windows.  Since I still have a full time job I don't have time to turn this into a business.  There are to many new ideas I want to try.
