I hope everyone is well and model railroading to your hearts delight.
I was wondering if there is a way to change passenger stations announcements (PSA) on Amtrak locomotives from one region to another?
Also, is there a list somewhere before purchasing a locomotive that list regional PSA's in relation to a locomotives cab number?
The reason I ask is that I purchased an MTH Amtrak F40PH online (cab. no. 398 / cat. no. 20-2601-1).
The item was listed as new and I asked the seller if they knew what the regional PSA was? They did not since it was their claim that the unit was new and had never been run. I tried to Youtube the model and cab number but came up empty. I would have preferred the PSA's to be closer to my current city of Baltimore preferably the Northeast Corridor since that is my initial goal for my future layout ( CSX / Norfolk Southern / Amtrak etc. )
In any case, it's a beautiful and well working locomotive and I plan on keeping it at least for the moment. I have rationalized the fact that Amtrak does operate beyond the Northeast Corridor.
I also plan on getting an Amtrak AEM-7 electric locomotive that works the Northeast Corridor as well if the price is right.
