When railroads ran reefers or box cars up front behind the loco, how did they get head end power, or steam, to the passenger cars? Were reefers plumbed / wired?
Reefers and boxcars in passenger trains were all in the steam heat era, except for Amtrak express boxcars seen in the 1990's and a few excursion support cars owned by railroads.
