Hope this is the right place to put this but anyway, on my layout I'm building a passenger yard with the station platforms. My question is what would be the correct lighting to use? Should I use yard lights or some other type of lighting, if so what kind?

Ogre Modeling makes a fine LED with a green shade attached that would look really good. The light is the "bright light" kind. What kind of light really depends on the locale and era you are trying to model. If you were modeling the 40s and 50s, you might want to use LEDs that are more of a yellow light.

Thanks! I'm not really trying to model a specific railroad but I do have a lot of NYC and PRR equipment. Not modeling a specific Era either. Realistically then I really could use anything.
The Ogre lights are very nice for your station. If you think you need more lighting in a yard area you could try Lionel 6-14092 or 6-82013; these are very similar to the lights the PRR used in Sunnyside yard.
