Due to several inquiries, we have decided to make a small portion of our custom run available as single cars, so we obliged and made that an option. RMT-96799-139 New York & Atlantic Ore Car New York and Atlantic Railway (NYA) was established 20 years ago as a collaborative approach between the Metropolitan Transit Authority/ the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) and Anacostia Rail Holdings (ARH) to privatize rail freight services on LIRR. NYA operates over 270 miles throughout the LIRR network and maintains selected sidings and tracks designated exclusively for freight service. ARH has a family of six short line railroads across the United States. ARH is widely recognized by its peers and the Class 1 railroads as a pioneer in the development of franchises in complex operating environments. NYA expanded it’s business to serving 65 customers, more than half of which became new customers since NYA took over freight operations on the LIRR. NYA traffic has more than doubled and the railroad handles a variety of commodities that are critical to the local economy. Sand loading at the former LIRR customer in Aquebouge, NY is referenced on each NYA car.

RMT-967112 Long Island 'Dashing Dan' Ore Car The first timetable to have indicated Dashing Dan was in September 1959, although he was shown in the April 1957 Long Island Railroader magazine. Thus, the Dashing Dan logo/scheme appears after 10/1959 as the FM C-liner diesel units arrived in the paint shop. These units sported colors of a lighter charcoal gray (which has been nicknamed: "Goodfellow gray"), orange nose ends, and pilots. This scheme was also applied to all diesels as they went into the shop for maintenance and repainting. This practice continued until 1964 when the C-liners were removed from service and replaced by the ALCO C-420 road units. Dan first made his "official" appearance to the public on the back cover of the 1956 LIRR Annual Report. "Dashing Dan," was the image created to personify the LIRR's slogan, "The Route of the Dashing Commuter." Sand loading at the former LIRR customer in Aquebouge, NY is referenced on each LIRR car and shows a sand load.

RMT-967213 New York Central 'Pacemaker' Ore Car The NYC/New York Central System introduced it's "Pacemaker" freight trains in 1946. Named after the Central's high-speed New York to Chicago "Pacemaker" passenger train the service was skillfully marketed and aimed at recapturing L.C.L. (Less than Car Load) traffic. The "Pacemaker" trains featured distinctive specially designed boxcars painted in a flashy vermillion and gray livery with "Pacemaker" written on the sides in script. The cars were equipped with high speed trucks that used stabilizers and bolsters to reduce incidents of in-transit damage. As "Pacemaker" service expanded the box car fleet grew to 1,000 cars. The "Pacemaker" fast freights originally operated on an 11 hour schedule from Manhattan to Buffalo / Niagara Falls. Carrying the symbol NB-1 the "Pacemaker" left Manhattan at 7:45 PM and arrived at Buffalo 6:50 AM the following morning. By 1950 "Pacemaker Service" reached most Mid-Western cities within the Central's service region. Quite possibly, the Pacemaker Service would have expanded throughout the NY Central freight car fleet. This ore car takes the Pacemaker Service freight car scheme version to the ore car fleet.
