PDI cable does not power LCS modules | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have 7 LCS modules daisy chained. AC power is provided to the modules by the B terminal on a PW ZW. The power is also daisy chained. This worked fine with the Legacy Base and Cab2. I then connected the Base3 and disconnected the LCS WiFi module (First in the chain) and LCS DB-9 Cable with Power Supply. I connected the PDI cable from the Base3 LCS1 to the first module in the chain. The modules respond correctly, BPC2, ASC2 and the SER2. I understood the Cabe3 provided the power to the modules via the PDI cable. That is the Base3 would supply the power to the modules' relays. However, when I remove the auxiliary daisy chained power (PW ZW) the modules do not work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or if my understanding about power through the PDI cables is wrong?

The Base3 provides PDI power only, which powers the processor in each LCS module. You still need auxiliary power for relays, track power, etc.

Thanks, Dave. So the Base3 replaces the DB-9 cable power supply only. Got it.
