Penn Station has been razed, again

Well the good thing is that now you get to build a brand-new layout.

Oh, you are going to have a lot of fun building a new layout.  Look at it that way.

Thanks for all the encouragement. The new layout will be 8 by 16; just 4' longer than the old layout. I have been convinced by friends and family to make it a walk around now that I have a little more room. I still want the city scene with Penn Station and tracks below. I intend to put the background on the wall which will be about 20" off the table. I still need a walk in because the knees don't let me "pop up". That said do I still put the river up the middle; or put it along the outer edge across the table from Penn station. The latter will give me more flexibility in the center of the layout. I was amazed when I saw Alex's layout in person and saw how much he did on that river scene in a minimum amount of space. Alex's and the NJHirailers  spurs with the wharfs provide many ideas.

The best thing I can say about as tear down is to look forward to the new one. Always sadness when one goes, but hopefully the next one will be better. Good luck with it.

Taking down one to build another gives one an opportunity to review what was a PITA in the former so they can avoid and enjoy the progress they make towards the future.
