And it's not May 15th, it's March 15th.. that might be a cold trip...
Interesting. Announcing an excursion for more than a year in advance is a bit risky, considering how much work the 1225 needed, and still needs. I sure hope they have the firebox completely finished in time.

According to the SRI they are committed to having her steamed up by the end of 2013.
They dragged her over to the GLC pit this past weekend to inspect the running gear. I think they are starting on that next.
The firebox work is almost all done and the reassembly has started. We still have to insert the tubes and flues as well as reassemble the ash pan and grate bearers. The running gear inspection was completed this last weekend. I don't know all the particulars as I've been working in the office for the last 6 months. Hope to be back out in the shop this Friday. Help need more money!!

It's great to hear she will be back out soon. Can't wait.

Hi Everyone. I am the Vice President of Railyard Productions. We are the group that is organinzing the 1225 Excursion for March 15, 2014. Here is some more information on the Excursion. The 1225 will depart the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan at 9:00 AM for Clare, Michigan. We will arrive in Clare at approximately 11:30 AM. There will be a 3-hour layover in Clare so passengers can partake in the Clare Irish Festival, which will coincide with our excursion. Shuttle Bus service from the train to the festival will be available for $1.00 each way. At 2:30 the train will depart Clare running backwards to Alma and then turn on a Wye, and continue to Owosso to complete the trip. There will be several photo opportunities so be sure to bring your camera!
