Permantly flashing new engine ID | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have several engines in custom paint and would like to flash the engines default address with a new name. Say AK 15MPDC #1555 TO URR 15MPDC #28.

Is this something that can only be done by a MTH service center, or can it be accomplished by using the DCS consumer loader program V5.0.0 ?

You can only change the permanent engine name using the Service Loader Program.

You can Edit the name & ID and it'll stick with the remote until a factory reset it done. same thing applies now with a feature reset except the ID still sticks..... Not a big deal.

OH, BTW, What is the function of "Send Flash code to the engine" in the "Engine" section of the menu in the Consumer loader version 5.0.0 ?

That's for sending the Chain File to a PS3 engine. The Chain File is the engine's firmware.
