The government just released a report on this accident that says it ruled out track, train or signal causes so that leaves only the engineer as the cause. Sort of a backwards indictment of fault. Strange but that is how they do it. I wonder if he got his job back ??

The report is on the Wall Street Journal webpage.
Please go to the source-The NTSB- don't fool around with second hand sites- It's only a preliminary report
They opened the Accident Docket today
Please be cautious in drawing conclusions unless you have all of facts. Review the docket.
Evidence or not, they can’t just throw up their hands, call it an Act of God, and walk away. People were killed in this loss and there’s no way that a scapegoat won’t be called. It’s how the process works, as the families of the dead and wounded won’t accept that there wasn’t SOMEONE they could point a finger at.
Sadly, in such cases, it can easily turn into a witch hunt. I have no clue if this guy caused the wreck or not, but it’s sad to know his career is over, no matter what the outcome of the investigation turn out to be.
