Dear 0 Scalers,
I've made some progress on the layout this weekend. Slide Fences are done on the layout. They were a challenge to pull together and I've had about enough of those. I also put in some line poles in this area. Hope you guys enjoy the photos. Ballasting and building a coal mine are next on the list.

Chris your's is one of a select few layouts I always make sure I review progress on whenever you post photos. The workmanship is first rate, and most of all the realism is exceptional. This is an elusive combination you've mastered.

I use dirt from the backyard, leaf litter, ground foam and static grass as ground cover from Scenic Express. I use Super Trees with Noch leaves from Scenic Express for the trees and brush.
I love the way you hid the center rail!
And you have not even ballasted yet. 
I have a wall of shame in my house, its littered with pictures of great layouts, and it reminds me to keep up the pace! Yours will be added to it.

Lots of Super Trees... lots and LOTS of Super Trees. I seem to remember reading something about that long ago - you want realism? Tons of trees (unless you're modeling a moonscape) using the right colors and nuances. You nailed it. Those pics are simply breathtaking.

John, that sounds like an "I Dream of Jeannie," type of wish that could go terribly wrong.
Boin106, thanks, I made the line poles. The globes will get a spray of ash color on top the next time I'm painting.

I think that's how he really got rid of the bamboo and it the secret to why it looks so good - he shredded the bamboo and turned it into scenery foliage......the secret is now unveiled!
