As I was railfanning last month at the Deerfield Beach Amtrak/Tri-Rail station, I was lucky enough to see the Chesapeake & Ohio Chapel Hill 3 Business Car attached to the rear of the southbound Amtrak Silver Star.  The video is on my YouTube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPDYjjUGZZU (the Silver Star arrives at the 7:30 mark).

Having never ever seen a Business Car in person up close (either a classic version or the current Amtrak Amfleet version) it was a thrill.

If any of you have taken photos of business cars, would you mind posting them?

Have any of you had the fortunate pleasure to ride in one?  What was the experience like?

Kevin,

Some years back, the Santa Fe Railway Historical and Modeling Society published a book, "Santa Fe Business and Special Service Cars".  Available at Caboose Hobbies and other fine stores.

In 1992, Ralph Barge authored "Union Pacific Business Cars 1870 - 1991".  It has photos, plans and text.

In the mid-1970s, Patrick J McLaughlin published privately, "Vanishing Varnish, Business and private Railroad Cars".  It has photos and plans.  PLEASE try to find this one, I treasure my copy.

Thanks Chip.

I will look out for both of those publications.

I came across this interesting item on the internet "So you want to own a Passenger Car" from American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners

http://www.aaprco.com/ownership/AAPRCO_intro_v26.pdf

I figured it was a lot of details getting hooked up on the end of a train, but didn't realize it was that much.

I rode on the Amtrak 10000 back when my dad was in management at Amtrak (this was sometime in the 1970s). I toured many, many cars when the AAPRCO convention was in Washington, DC (1984). I've been on/seen numerous office cars at museums from the RR Museum of PA to the Illinois Railway Museum. Gosh! There's just too many to remember. I'll leave you with a couple of my pictures from the Streamliners at Spencer event (I have a feeling the first shot will got a lot of comments)...
