Pictures are from our recent trip to the St. Louis Transportation Museum. I will post a few from Union Station in St. Louis also.

Excellent photos; thanks for posting them. That museum has an excellent collection, and some of their items are far from home, such as that Milwaukee Road electric and the "Train of Tomorrow"/ Aerotrain.
Do any of the outside uncovered locos have rot on them ? Seems like the elements would be taking their toll on them by now .
I would like to see all of the big steam sitting side by side, that would be cool
And are any of the engines in the state that they could be restored for use,or are they to far gone as far as ever being other than static display ?
Great pictures Jim,thanks for sharing .
Lovely photographs of wonderful locomotives. Thank you so much for posting them.
They BiPolar plaque said it was the only surviving one. Most of the engines will remain static I was told because the cost of refurbishing and then the insurance needed makes restoration prohibitive. I asked those same questions Mack, those were the answers I got. Shame but it is a very expensive undertaking to fix. I would love to see the Big Boy running......oh well......Another piece of American history going by the wayside.....shame.
Thank you all for your nice comments.
jay jay, the IRM is a great place too. Been there before. I really like the old wooden passenger cars they have in the buildings, the craftsmanship is amazing.
