How do I repair the pickup roller assemby on an 8632 whistle tender?  The roller makes uninterrupted contact with the hot rail, making the whistle sound continuously.  When pushed into/onto the protruding copper contact, the opposite happens: it remains in that position.   Is there a parts diagram or video someone can point me to?  Should I just replace the whole assemby?

Many thanks

Agreed, the fault is the circuit board inside. 2 most common failures, the small capacitor and the transistor. This causes the transistor to fail shorted- and thus the whistle motor stuck on. I just repaired one of these last week.

The small capacitor is a 1uF 50V and the transistor is a common MPSA13.
