Union Pacific 4014

That pic seems to have the express boxcar at the end. I thought that car was scrapped after the derailment and wheel issues when 844 was MUed with 1982 in Texas.
I was watching an old video about the Big Boys and this joke idea came into my head.
I just hope no one hires a hitman. At least I can say I wasn't lying!
Had to admit I was looking for the Big Boy in the background...
Ya fooled me...

Hey, the title is true! It really is Union Pacific 4014 operating under its own power. I didn't say it was Union Pacific Big Boy 4014!

After all, two is better than one, right?
I wonder if the diesel will get renumbered kind of like the whole 8444 situation.
I think right now the BB is actually UPP 4014, to advoid confusion with the diesel.

I'm sure it will be if the EMD version is still in service by the time Big Boy 4014's restoration is completed. Remember that in the SD70M's UP skipped the 3985 number slot for obvious reasons - not a good idea to have two engines owned by the same railroad with the same number on the property. If they both are leading a train in the same territory it is likely to lead to misunderstood orders or worse.
Well, BNSF leased SP 4449 for their employee special trips in 2000 and they used their diesel of the same number on the same train. Not the same thing, I'll agree, but both were referred to as "BNSF 4449" at the same time.
There's a picture of BB 4014 over on trainorders.com as of 1/22/2017 and it is pretty well torn down. The front engine has been removed and completely disassembled.
