Do you actually run your pilot locomotive, or just display them? Please show us your Pilot's Locos in action with rolling stock, if you run them? I am curious to see how pilot's are being used.

I think Eric has a few videos of his pilot locos running, check out his Youtube..
I have a pilot MTH 2-8-0 Consolidation. I do run it, but right now am not running anything as I've expanded my layout and am in the process of laying track and wiring. It's actually currently on display on our fireplace in the living room. I put a small display together as decoration for our son's birthday party this past weekend (it was train-themed).
Sorry but, the photo you posted is NOT a "pilot model", as it is painted for Western Maryland. Plus, I thought that Lionel was the only manufacturer that was offering unpainted "pilot models".
We kind of went through this subject about a week ago. I have the Milwaukee Road S-3 pilot of which you speak, but I will never run it. I have the painted 261 for that.
Gentlemen,
My question is an easy one. If I may ask without a certain individual jumping down my throat. The days of collecting for value ended long ago. It would seem like the investors of 70's & 80's all over again. If it's a dumb question..oh well Thank you for your time.

That's not why I bought one. It is my home town steam engine. I've chased it, I've ridden behind it, and I just like it. Value has nothing to do with it, as I never plan to sell it. Even when I'm gone, I suspect that my wife would still keep it even if she disposed of all the rest of my trains.
I just asked her, and she said yes.

Funny you should say that. A friend and I were just discussing the possible investment potential of the VLBB. It's unlike very many other engines for a number of reasons - it's the top-of-the-line Vision Line product. It's the Vision version of the most recognized locomotive (Big Boy), and there will not be another VL of this locomotive. It was BTO, so there isn't much of a surplus floating around. It has all the cutting edge features. So basically, it's a limited run flagship version of the foremost steam locomotive, with many special features. For all these reasons, we were wondering if maybe the VLBB might just be something special investment-wise. Hmmm....

My spouse wonders about that sort of thing when picking stocks. As soon as she has a definitive answer, I am going to buy a nice restored P-51.

Hi guys, I am waiting for some extra money to purchase one more Centipede (Seaboard or NdeM) and the Alton car set...Do you do a lay away plan?
Sorry not on closeouts, we need to move them quickly.

We have the Centipede (Seaboard or NdeM), we will do financing or lay away. I am checking on the Alton set.
Only 1 Y-3 left!
Alton sets are 199.99
I have run my MTH Engineering Chapelon 2-3-1, my Pilot Lionel GS-6 and PRR S-2 Turbine.
I ordered a Lionel Pilot L2a Mohawk from Nassau on Saturday. I have the TMCC painted
one from a few years ago (superb); I could not resist Nassau's price. NYC steamers
always make me weak, anyway.
But a PRR S-1 6-4-4-6 Duplex in a Pilot version...who do I call? My checkbook is idling...
I'll sell my painted 3rd Rail version to help finance it.
Y-3's are all gone. Only a few Mohawks left

Go to the home page and click on "close outs" then "Lionel". I also had a post just on the sale last week with a direct link. I also have Zephyer sets too!
