i find it amazing that some of the AEM-7s are approaching 30 years of service, albeit with rebuilds. I hope this design is as durable and versatile.

there was a story here a couple weeks back that told of the (finally) approved funding from Congress for the improvement/upgrade of the overhead power, and signal systems along the NEC, most of which dates to the 1930s when installed by the PRR.

And the most disgraceful thing is they gave those AEM7's the most ugliest paint job after those rebuilds... yet the fugly genesis units get repainted every 10 yearswith something decent!
