Do any of you find that rolling stock with plastic trucks tend to sit unevenly? I have a bunch of Weaver and Petersen Supply cars that do this. I have placed washers where truck screws to chassis but it still happens. The plastic trucks are just not supported and are "wobbly" for lack of a better word. I know I can buy metal trucks but I use Kadees and the plastic are so much easier for conversion. Any ideas? Thanks

Gerry...I have noticed this on those pieces of rolling stock that have the fast angle wheels. Some wheels have more angle than others and this tends to cause them to wobble sometimes while rolling and when sitting sometimes they look like they lean just a little one way or the other.....

Good morning Gerry
On weaver cars, sometimes the car floor is not seated properly into the body. This happens frequently with the box cars and large covered hoppers. Just pull the floor out and reseat. I have mostly older weaver's. I am not sure about the new ones.

Another thought the truck screw is it tight enough?
Another thought the truck screw is it tight enough?
My thought also. One truck screw should be tight so the truck just turns smoothly, the opposite truck should be just a bit looser, to allow for track irregularities. The car should NOT be able to "wobble".
I have cinched up the rivets on many cars with plastic trucks, at times I've found the factory job very loose and it allows the car to flop pretty wildly from side to side. I try to get them to the point just before any binding happens and they will hold the car/truck alignment properly.
I'm not familiar with those particular cars, but I sometimes find it necessary to adjust the car frame or truck frame mounting surfaces (file flat, etc), to make the car ride more level and without wobbling. I often replace the original truck mounting hardware with machine screws and Nylock nuts that can be adjusted to just the right snugness that still allows the trucks to pivot freely.
Trucks are definitely tight enough to the car floor, just enough not to bind. Thanks for the other ideas.
