Today the new Polar Express operating milk (hot cocoa) car arrived!!!! I purchased this for my grand-daughters Polar Express set they have for under their tree and to give them some added fun. Carefully unpacked the box and removed the tape which holds the plastic cover over the base housing the contents....took the car and tested function and it worked perfectly with a nice painted figure inside...THEN I went to add the special cans and found NONE---it appeared that someone at the factory forgot to include the whole set of cans! Tried to call Lionel and was on hold for 1/2 hour and gave up---sent an email to them and hope someone will get back to me. Frustrating having these things happen but they do and I just hope I can get a set of cans somehow to complete what should have been in there in the first place. Went from the thrill of victory to agony of defeat quickly. Will keep you posted on my success in getting the cans.

Thanks Rick for "huge" link to lists of available cans----for time being until the missing cans problem is hopefully resolved I will order some of the brown bosco cans----after all it is the Polar Express famous for its hot chocolate. Like the commercial "Got Milk" your list for certain is "Got Cans"!
Quick update---I just received a call from the dealer I purchased the car from and they are sending me the cans today! So nice of them since it was certain the cans were never put in the milk car set at the factory. This is what I call true customer service and I am very thankful for such service as this item was going to my granddaughters who love when they can be visiting us (in better times of course) and play with the trains and operating cars---but now they will have their own operating car for their Christmas Polar Express under their tree. I will be most happy when I have those cans in hand. Glad the granddaughters love the trains as for myself we have 3 grown girls and now 5 granddaughters among them----no boys but believe me the girls rule! Yes we do have an early modern Lionel girls set---like Joe McDoakes video about person obsessed with his Lionel trains when seeing a new switch tower in the hobby store---"I gotta have one" and even though it was a store display he was throwing money at the owner to get it. I am sure we train people are all Joe McDoakes and better for it.
Happy to state today the Polar Express milk cans arrived safe and sound from a very accommodating dealer!!!! Now my granddaughters will have their Polar Express set enhanced for many more years of fun....must confess as a kid I always wanted a milk car and I did want them to have a childhood wish I had and give them added fun. Plus I will get to play with it also like in that famous old Lionel ad where the father takes over playing with his son's train----thanks again and yes "We Got Milk"
So who's the dealer? They should be recognized for making things right.
I agree with Rick - how about a quick video of this car in action
The super dealer with the super service (which I always have had from them) was Charles Ro Supply Company.---video will have to wait since Christmas present and all wrapped already waiting to deliver it when possible and safe!
Well... no suprise there!
Good to hear the dealers are stepping up to address poor quality control/inspection issues with Lionel. Waiting on what will be our 3rd try with the Lionel Plug and Play Elf Tug of War for the grandson. First two stopped working after less than 5 minutes! For what these items cost, the quality is really lacking, very disappointing and frustrating.
