I have restored many Lionel, American Flyer and Marx steamers over the years and have always polished the linkages and handrails by hand using a few different methods depending on their condition followed by Never Dull and was wondering if anyone has used a jewelry cleaner such as Connoisseur or any other type of cleaner/polish with what results? Thanks

I've used Mother's Mag Wheel polish with good results.

Thanks, I'll try it.
Have used chrome polish sold in Automotives for when cars had chrome plated metal bumpers. The old army favorite Brasso metal polish will work too. Boy am I showing my age.

In the sea going services it was always Neverdull!
Pretty sure most any polish will work but most linkages are plated and the plating isn’t very thick. If you see rust the plating is gone. I use a Caswell tin or nickel brush plating kits to restore the finish. Not very expensive and easy to use.
