I know this has been done already, but here's mine. I had an old Lionel unlettered, super cheap slope back that I

thought would do. One of the things I don't like is the body too low over the upper part of the trucks. It's a "fender

skirt" look. I raised the body with washers and replaced the AAR trucks with arch-bars for an older look. Added a handrail

and footboards too. My engine is the K-line Raritan Copper Works, so I simply lettered the tender "RARITAN" with individual

stick-on letters. The front body mounting tab was bent and formed to fit the Kadee on the engine. The body now fastened

with screws. A chrome sticker for a back-up lite lens and a flat coat paint job finishes it. I think it matches up with the loco pretty well!

That looks like it belongs.  Raising the body sounds unusual, for some of the things I

would like to kitbash sit way up on their trucks, and I am wondering how to get the

floor up into the body, thereby lowering the stance. The Great Western Sugar Company

at its various plants used Porters and other tank engines, called "dinkies" to switch cars around the factory yards. Some of these had various odd ball fuel capacity enhancements, such as four wheel home-built tenders.  Many of the dinkies were six driver saddle tank versions, that looked very similar to the famous B&O four driver saddle tank, "Little Joe".
