Recently, I read the FRA sent a letter to all of the present Class 1's asking if their operating plans could be ramped up quickly in case of a rapid uptick of traffic.

Now I have read the Ports of LA/LB are getting slammed with containers.

BNSF's response is pulling locomotives and bate tables out of storage, and send them west.  Also an uptick in getting crews back.  Terminal personal are being flown from the eastern parts of the system to the area.

UP's answer seems to add charges and fees to the shipper so ad not to upset their PSR.

With coal down, and the Sunset Route mostly 2 main tracks west of El Paso TX, you would think they would want to obtain more traffic........

Or in this case, has PSR and the low OR ration become the new business "false god".
