My favorite tinplate "O" Gauge passenger cars are Ives/Lionel 1695, 1696 and 1697. I'd like to have a combination car ("combine") and a dining car in that series. Does LCCA have any plans for them?

i too enjoy IVES. everything is based on the first O gauge tinplate set. if we make the numbers i have no problem with making ives. i always tought it was cool stuff

Lou,

First off, I believe that the LCCA is simply the best club out there.  Best publication, easiest renewal process (I've dropped memberships in organizations that don't have on-line payment because we don't even buy stamps anymore... this is the 21st Century!), and best club offerings.

My dream offering: a #221 "Dreyfus" style loco upgraded with a can motor, ERRCo TMCC-Cruise, and RailSounds, followed by #2400 Series cars painted for the 20th Century.

Let me second the motion for the upgraded #221 "Dreyfuss" (can motor, ERR, RS)
and the Century 2400 cars. Unless the price is really stupid, sign me up. I have a little
collection of 221's (five), including a former basket-case that was "restored" (badly - by someone else) that keeps looking down at me from the shelf and whispering "ERR Commander...yesss".

But, I'd rather have a modernized, DC-motor version. I would love to see it next to the
"old" Weaver brass Century Hudson that I just finished upgrading with ERR Cruise.

I wonder if a small can motor could be employed transversely more-or-less in place of the AC open-frame, thereby leaving the existing "frame" fairly intact? Assuming there's tooling...

Anyway, I'd like one.
I was never what I consider to be a "Tinplate"guy, but when I saw LCCA's first exclusive tinplate Lakeshore limited edition Tinplate set and all I can say is "wow!" The colors pop and it is a very beautiful set. Even if you are not a big tin plate collector or operator, you may want to consider ordering this set. This will be a great addition to anyone's train collection. If you are interested, go check it out on www.lionelcollectors.org. If you are not a member of the LCCA now, join our club on line at the same website. Sales are going extremely brisk, so if you are thinking about it, act now and order We don't want to see you disappointed; if they sell out before you make your decision.

+1.  I couldn't agree more!!!

I joined earlier this year, and I was flat out IMPRESSED when I received my first copy of The Lion Roars.  Loved the articles, and just plain loved the whole presentation/layout of the publication.  FINALLY a club publication that is well-designed, forward-thinking, and contains relevant articles.  Love it!!!

And some of the new club offerings???  Simply AMAZING!!!

Fabulous work, Lou and company.

David, Thank you for your kind words. It is the people such as yourself that make the LCCA "the best toy train club on the plane!" I thing the following formula is the key ingrediants to the success of the LCCA: great members + great products + great publications + great conventions + great website + great special events = LCCA & FUN!
