I have a post war tank car that was custom painted and would like to replace the "sliding shoe" thucks with regular smooth running trucks. The sliding shoe trucks just don't roll very well through my 027 curves. I have not been able to locate any PW trucks for sale. My question is this....Once I remove the trucks that are on the car now is the hole diameter that the post goes through so that retaining clip can be attached, the same diameter so that a newer pair of diecast trucks with the screw attachment design can be used? I honestly like the looks of the newer spring loaded trucks better anyway.
Any suggestions/recomendations will be greatly appreciated.
