Took apart dad's locomotive for cleaning. Missing the front screw that mounts the body to the chassis. Guess he's been in there before (~70 years ago). Any info on a source would be appreciated.
For the 646, 2046. 2056 and similar Hudsons, the screw is a 6-32 x 3/8 slotted fillister head screw available from most well stocked parts dealers or that local niche hardware store with a fantastic array of hardware.
Lionel in the later years assigned a part number, 8600-47, later formatted 600-8600-047, to the screw.
