i have a Lionel postwar postwar ep5
on an atlas o high speed turnout the pickup rollers lose contact stopping the engine
can i add another roller on the engine maybe on the the chassis the truck without the pickup has the motor

I do not believe that the motor truck can have a collector assembly mounted, as it is not designed for one.
A call to Atlas may be able to help with a possible modification to the switch.
A possibility is to run a lighted car behind the locomotive, and tap off the pickup rollers of the car and run a wire to the loco, tying it in to the loco pickup roller wire.
