Hello,

I'm working on fixing up my Lionel Postwar steam engine 2055.  I want to put new rollers on but can't seem to find the roller assembly part.

I have looked over Olsens Toy Train site and tried a general Google search but have not seen this part.

I have attached pictures of the roller assembly I am looking for along with the bottom of the engine.

Would anyone happen to know the part number and where I could find it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mark

The roller axle (shaft) is only attached on one end.

The roller can be removed from the arm by carefully bending the bracket to spread the end apart. Then the roller will slip off it's shaft, and a new one can be slid on. Finally the bracket is bent back.

I have found that in most cases, replacement shafts do not fit the roller bracket correctly. They are turned down on one end. It's the turned down end that gets peened over to hold the shaft in place. That end is usually turned down too much.

Thank you CW.  I will give that a try.
