I have a Nikon Coolpix A10 digital camera which has the capacity to take still photographs and film clips(videos).  I took four videos, put them into our computer and can retrieve and watch them.  I can neither attach them to an outgoing Internet message nor post them in the OGR Forum.  When I tried to post on in the Forum I received a replay which recommended I "re-encode video"  using "MP4 using H.264 with AAC audio".  I do not know how to do that and the directions that came with camera do not address re-encoding.  If anyone knows how do to do so, kindly contact me off list.  I am not computer savvy and will need to be walked through the procedure at a slow pace. 

Or post the procedure in this Forum for others to see who may have the same problem.

John, I don’t know if your operating system has an onboard video converter, if not, it appears you’ll have to convert your videos in your computer to mp4 first, then post them on the forum.  Looking at your Nikon A10 online manual your videos are created in the .avi format.  You will need to use one of the many free video converters to convert to mp4.  Here is a link to a review of a few free converters.  Read up on them, then choose one, download to your computer and try it out. I really think you will be able to accomplish this task.  If not, of course we will help.  Other members may have alternatives to this method also.

I am able to post a photo or video into a thread I am replying to but how do I get the photo or video to appear in the "PHOTOS/VIDEOS" location listed at the top of the Home page?

On the home page when I click on the "POST" button I am given these options:

Topic

Resource

Event

Private message

Survey.

How to post video or Photo?
