Postwar AF S scale - what forum / smoke units | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I'm hoping someone on this forum can tell me where to look as this is off topic for an O gauge forum.

Coincidentally with acquiring Lionel collections from attics and basements, I find American Flyer. I can figure out how to fix motors, but the smoke usint is a puzzle. can someone tell me what group or forum is a place to look for this kind of info ?
